Discord Status Ideas: Creative Custom Status Examples

Your Discord status is a small but visible piece of your identity. Here are ideas and how to set them.

How to Set a Custom Status

  1. Click your avatar at the bottom left
  2. Click Set a custom status
  3. Type your status text
  4. Choose an emoji (optional)
  5. Set expiry (clear after today, 4 hours, never, etc.)
  6. Click Save

Gaming Statuses

  • 🎮 grinding ranked
  • ⚔️ in the zone - don't disturb
  • 🏆 chasing the leaderboard
  • 🎯 one more game... (it's a lie)
  • 🕹️ living in the game

Funny Statuses

  • Professionally confused
  • Responding to messages in alphabetical order
  • Currently in 47 Discord servers I never check
  • Loading... please wait
  • Asleep. Will respond eventually.
  • Pretending to be productive

Aesthetic / Minimalist

  • ☁️

If you run a server, your status can be a subtle promotion:

Presence Modes

Beyond custom text, set your presence:

  • 🟢 Online - Available
  • 🟡 Idle - Away (auto-sets after inactivity)
  • 🔴 Do Not Disturb - No notifications
  • Invisible - Appear offline but still use Discord
