Horror is better with friends, especially when one of them screams into the mic. Steam Scream Fest is back for Halloween, and this year's sale, Steam Scream V, has horror games at up to 90% off until 2 November.
The sale is huge, though, and most lists are packed with single-player games. So we checked the actual Steam prices and picked the 8 best co-op horror deals for a Discord game night. The cheapest starts at $3.99.

1. The Outlast Trials: $3.99
The best deal of the sale. Red Barrels' description says it plainly: "mind-numbing terror, this time with friends." You and up to three others are test subjects in a Cold War experiment, trying to survive twisted "Trials."

2. Dead Island 2: $4.99
Zombie-smashing across a sunny, gory Los Angeles. It's more fun than scary, and it's loud and silly in co-op.

3. Don't Starve Together: $5.09
Not jump-scare horror, but a creepy survival game where night is genuinely dangerous. Great for groups who want something slower and spooky.
4. Back 4 Blood: $5.99
A four-player zombie shooter from the team behind Left 4 Dead. Steam's page says you can "Play with up to 3 of your friends online or go solo." At 90% off, it's an easy group buy.

5. World War Z: $7.49
Huge zombie swarms that pour over walls and climb on each other. Simple to pick up and great for casual squads.
6. Dead by Daylight: $7.99
The classic asymmetric horror game: four survivors try to escape one killer. Perfect for a mixed group, since someone can take a turn being the killer.
7. GTFO: $10.39
The hardcore pick. GTFO is a tough, tactical co-op horror shooter where communication matters, which makes a Discord voice channel almost essential.
8. Phasmophobia: $13.99
The ghost-hunting favourite. Steam describes it as a "4-player, online co-op, psychological horror game." You investigate haunted locations and use tools like spirit boxes to identify the ghost.
