Discord Invite Link Management: Create, Track, and Expire Links
Most servers use one invite link for everything. Managing multiple tracked links helps you understand where members come from.
Creating an Invite Link
- Click the Invite People icon next to your server name
- Click Edit Invite Link for advanced settings:
- Copy the link
Tracking Links by Source
Create separate invite links for different promotion channels:
- Link 1: For your Discords.ai listing
- Link 2: For Reddit posts
- Link 3: For your TikTok bio
- Link 4: For Twitter/X bio
- Link 5: For partner server exchanges
In Server Settings โ Invites, you can see how many uses each link has.
The Vanity URL
With Community Mode + 100 members:
- Server Settings โ Vanity URL
- Choose a short, memorable keyword
- Your URL becomes:
discord.gg/yourkeyword
Use this as your primary public link โ it's clean, memorable, and brandable.
Auditing Existing Invite Links
See and manage all active links:
- Server Settings โ Invites
- View all links, who created them, uses, and expiry
- Delete links that are no longer needed (expired partnerships, old promotions)
Temporary Membership Links
For events or partner server promotions:
- Create a link with 24-hour or 7-day expiry
- Set max uses to a reasonable number
- Share specifically for that event
- Members from that link can be tracked separately
Security Note
- Rotate your main invite link if it gets shared in spam communities
- Never share invite links in unsolicited DMs โ it violates Discord ToS
- Delete compromised invite links immediately from Server Settings โ Invites
