Discord Vanity URL: How to Get a Custom Invite Link

A vanity URL turns discord.gg/abc123xyz into discord.gg/yourservername — professional, memorable, and shareable.

Requirements

• Community Mode must be enabled
• 100+ members in your server
• You must have the Manage Server permission

How to Claim Your Vanity URL

1. Go to Server Settings → Vanity URL
2. Type your desired URL slug (only letters, numbers, and underscores)
3. Discord checks availability instantly
4. If available, click Save to claim it

Your link becomes: discord.gg/yourslug

Choosing the Right URL

Good vanity URLs:

• Your server name (exact or abbreviated)
• Your community brand name
• Your game + community type (e.g. valorant-pro)
• Short enough to say out loud and remember

Avoid:

• Numbers or special characters unless they're your brand
• Very long URLs (hard to say, easy to misspell)
• URLs that could be confused with other well-known servers

If Your Preferred URL Is Taken

Popular words are claimed quickly. Alternatives:

• Add your region (e.g. valorant-eu)
• Add your activity (e.g. valorant-ranked)
• Use an abbreviation (e.g. vas for Valorant All-Stars)
• Add a year (not ideal long-term)

Using Your Vanity URL

• Replace all public invite links with your vanity URL
• Update your Discords.ai listing
• Update all social media bios
• Add it to your email signature
• Print or display it in any promotional materials

If You Lose Eligibility

If your server drops below 100 members, you may temporarily lose your vanity URL. Keep member count above the threshold.
