How to Set Up a Game Clip Sharing Channel on Discord
A well-configured clips channel becomes one of the most visited channels on any gaming server. Here's how to set it up.
Basic Setup
- Create a new text channel โ name it
#clips,#highlights, or๐ฌ-clips - Place it in a visible category (not buried at the bottom)
- Set a channel description: "Share your best gaming moments! Video clips only โ minimum 30 seconds."
- Add slowmode โ 30-60 seconds prevents flooding
Permissions
- Everyone: View Channel, Send Messages, Attach Files, Add Reactions
- Mods: Manage Messages (to remove off-topic posts)
- Optionally: require Level 5+ to post (prevents spam from new accounts)
Discord's File Size Limits
- Free servers: 25MB upload limit
- Level 2 Boost: 50MB limit
- Level 3 Boost: 100MB limit
- Nitro users: Can upload up to 500MB
