📢 Why Is Pokémon Unite Shutting Down?
The Pokémon Company hasn't given a reason. Its notice simply says: "We regret to inform you that service for Pokémon UNITE will end on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC."
There were warning signs, though. Over the summer, Pokémon Unite was dropped from the 2027 Pokémon World Championships, where it had featured since 2022.

Pokémon Unite was made by TiMi Studio Group, part of Tencent, and published by The Pokémon Company. It launched on Switch on 21 July 2021 and on mobile that September.
It was a big hit early on. It won Mobile Game of the Year at the 25th D.I.C.E. Awards and was named Best Game in Google Play's Best of 2021.

Aeos gems: You can't buy them anymore, but you can still spend the gems you already have until the game shuts down. Use them before 23 March 2027.
Unite Club: New memberships are closed and automatic renewals are switched off. If you're already a member, you keep your benefits until your current membership period ends.

🎁 The Final Event and Library Feature
From 12 November, a special event will let players get items that have appeared in the game so far, including Unite licenses and Holowear.
The same update adds a Library feature. If you download the Library data before 23 March 2027, you can keep viewing some of your records and in-game content after shutdown.
Keep in mind:
- The Library only works on the device where you downloaded it. The data generally can't be moved to a new device.
- Support for the Library ends when the game shuts down.
- If you don't download it in time, you can't use it later.
🏆 What About Competitive Play?
The Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament will still go ahead, with qualifiers starting on 5 December 2026. It will be the game's last big competitive event.
💬 Keep Your Unite Squad Together on Discord
When a game shuts down, its community usually scatters. Discord is the easiest way to keep your squad together.
The biggest community server, r/PokemonUnite, has about 76,000 members. It's a good place to share final-event tips and find a new game to play together.
