The Complete Wiki to Silent Hill: Townfall Puzzles
Silent Hill: Townfall doesn't make all of its puzzles easy to read.
Some of the game's toughest sections deliberately give you incomplete information and expect you to connect clues from CCTV cameras, documents, terminals and environmental markings.
The late-game Remote Systems Control sequence is one of the biggest examples. You'll need to read IDs from CCTV feeds, translate symbols on a control panel and eventually leave the room to manually repair the Auxiliary Lines. All Things How
This Wiki focuses on the puzzles most likely to cause problems during a first playthrough.
Spoiler warning: This guide contains puzzle solutions and late-game locations, but avoids explaining the story or ending.
Quick Puzzle Guide
| Puzzle | Location | Main Clue |
|---|---|---|
| CRTV Signals | Various chapters | Tune the CRTV to unstable signals |
| Remote Systems Control | SWDP control room | CCTV IDs + command/equipment symbols |
| Auxiliary Lines | AUX Room | Three switch patterns |
| Valve F | SWDP | Remote console + physical valve |
| Chapter 15 Terminal | SWDP | Five symbol/code sequences |
| Clamp Release | Late game | Control-panel settings |

The CRTV: Your Main Puzzle Tool
The CRTV is Simon's portable television and one of the most useful puzzle tools in Townfall.
It isn't just there for atmosphere.
The CRTV can:
- Pick up strange broadcasts
- Reveal story fragments
- Warn you about nearby threats
- Provide clues for certain puzzles
- Help identify codes and sequences
You tune it using the shoulder controls until the signal lines up correctly. There are 18 signals to discover throughout the game. Townfall Walkthrough
Don't Ignore Static
If the CRTV starts behaving strangely or static becomes more intense, pay attention.
The device can act as an early warning system for nearby enemies, meaning checking it before entering an unfamiliar area can save you from walking directly into danger. Townfall Walkthrough

Remote Systems Control Puzzle
This is one of the hardest puzzle sequences in the game.
It takes place in the SWDP facility during Part 6 and requires you to recreate a sequence of actions by combining:
Command + Equipment + ID number
The problem is that Townfall doesn't clearly explain what many of the symbols mean.
How the Console Works
The console has three important areas:
- Command buttons
- Equipment buttons
- Numeric keypad
The general process is:
Read the objective → find the relevant CCTV camera → locate the equipment ID → select the correct command → select the equipment → enter the ID → press Enter. All Things How
First: Open Valve B
Switch to CCTV Camera 005, which shows the Valves A–C area.
Find Valve B and read its number.
Several guides report 254, but some sources have reported different IDs between versions/playthroughs. Because of that, use the number shown in your own CCTV feed rather than blindly copying a guide's number. How To Video Game
Select:
Open → Valve → Valve B's ID → Enter

Start Filter A
Switch to CCTV Camera 000.
Find the Filter Unit and read the number associated with Filter A.
Many guides report 103, but again, check your own feed if the number doesn't work. All Things How
Enter:
Start → Filter → Filter A's ID → Enter
After this, the puzzle sends you away from the console.
Auxiliary Lines Puzzle
This is the section where a lot of players can get stuck.
After completing the first Remote Systems Control steps, you'll receive the code 0825.
Use it on the locker near the control console to obtain the AUX Key.
Take the elevator to the AUX Room and find the AUX Disk. Insert the disk into the computer to reveal the Auxiliary Lines clue. All Things How
The wall contains three groups of switches.
The white markings tell you which switches belong to each line:
- 1 stripe = Line 1
- 2 stripes = Line 2
- 3 stripes = Line 3
The direction of the pipe tells you which way to read the switches.
Auxiliary Line 1
9 switches
Read them right to left.
Set them:
Up → Down → Up → Up → Down → Up → Down → Up → Up
Auxiliary Line 2
9 switches
Again, read them right to left.
Set them:
Up → Down → Down → Down → Up → Down → Down → Up → Up
Auxiliary Line 3
8 switches
This one reverses direction.
Read it left to right.
Set them:
Down → Up → Up → Up → Down → Up → Down → Up
When everything is correct, all three indicator lights turn green. All Things How
The Easy Mistake
Don't read all three lines from the same direction.
Lines 1 and 2: Right → Left
Line 3: Left → Right
That's one of the easiest ways to accidentally enter the correct pattern backwards. All Things How
Finish the Remote Systems Control Sequence
Return to the control room after fixing the Auxiliary Lines.
You'll now continue the console sequence.
Flush Auxiliary Line B
Use the number provided on the Remote Systems Control documentation.
The commonly reported ID is:
246
Enter:
Flush → Auxiliary → 246 → Enter
Stop the Regulator
Switch to CCTV Camera 002 for the Regulator Systems.
Read the ID shown in your game.
Some guides have reported different numbers here, so use your own CCTV feed rather than relying on a fixed number. Respec
Then enter:
Stop → Regulator → ID → Enter
Unlock the Valve F Door
Switch to CCTV Camera 004, which shows Valves D–F.
Find the Valve F door and read its ID.
Again, use the number shown on your screen.
Enter:
Unlock → Door → ID → Enter
Once successful, you can leave the control room and physically operate Valve F downstairs. All Things How

Chapter 15 Strange Terminal Puzzle
Another difficult late-game puzzle involves a wall terminal that prints incident reports and asks you to clear a series of system faults.
You need to power the terminal and work through five separate inputs.
The commonly reported numeric sequences are:
- 62
- 518
- 950
- 6470
- 9862
The final sequence opens the basement doors. All Things How
Important
Don't just enter the numbers.
Each sequence requires the correct symbols first, followed by the numbers and then Enter. The terminal's printed incident logs tell you which symbols correspond to each fault. All Things How
This is why the puzzle can feel confusing if you try to treat it as a simple keypad code.
Clamp Release Puzzle
The late-game control sequence has another multi-part puzzle involving the clamp release system.
The reported solution requires setting several controls before the green RELEASE button becomes available.
The key settings include:
- Pressure Control → SET
- Intubate Flow → NONE
- Battery One → B
- Battery Two → C
- Specific report switches → 1, 3 and 6
- Release → Press when green
Once the release sequence is complete, the physical mechanism downstairs can be operated. Townfall Walkthrough
Tips for Solving Townfall's Hardest Puzzles
1. Read documents twice
Townfall often gives you the information you need, but not necessarily in the room where you'll use it.
2. Check CCTV carefully
For the Remote Systems Control puzzle, the cameras are effectively part of the keypad. They provide the equipment IDs you need. All Things How
3. Don't assume every code is universal
Some reported Remote Systems Control IDs differ between guides and playthroughs.
If a number from a guide doesn't work, go back to the relevant CCTV feed and read your own number. How To Video Game
4. Look at the direction of pipes
The Auxiliary Lines puzzle isn't just about matching switch positions.
The direction of each line determines how you should read the pattern.
5. Green lights mean you're done
For the Auxiliary Lines puzzle, don't leave the room until the three status lights are green. All Things How
6. Save before complicated sequences
Some of the late-game puzzle areas also contain enemies, so having a recent save can prevent a frustrating repeat.
Why These Puzzles Matter
Townfall's puzzles are different from simply finding a combination and opening a door.
The game repeatedly asks you to interpret information.
A CCTV camera becomes a source of numbers.
A floppy disk becomes a diagram.
A pipe becomes a directional clue.
A printer becomes part of the puzzle itself.
That design is why the hardest sections can feel confusing on a first playthrough, but also why solving them feels rewarding once the pieces finally connect.
🎮 The Bottom Line
The hardest puzzles in Silent Hill: Townfall aren't necessarily difficult because the answers are complicated.
They're difficult because the game rarely tells you where the answer is supposed to come from.
The Remote Systems Control puzzle makes you jump between CCTV and a control console. The Auxiliary Lines puzzle turns pipe markings into a switch sequence. The Chapter 15 terminal makes you combine printed incident reports with symbols and numbers.
If you remember one thing:
Don't guess. Look around.
Townfall usually gives you the answer somewhere nearby. You just have to figure out what the game wants you to treat as the clue.
