🚀 2027 Full Reveal

Naughty Dog has now confirmed that Intergalactic will be fully revealed in 2027.

Studio head Neil Druckmann said the team will remain quiet for the rest of 2026 while development continues, with a proper look at Jordan's sci-fi adventure planned for 2027. This is a reveal window, not a confirmed 2027 release date.

The game was first announced nearly two years ago, making the 2027 showcase the next major milestone for the project.

🌌 A New Sci-Fi Direction

Intergalactic represents a major change of setting for Naughty Dog.

Instead of the post-apocalyptic worlds of The Last of Us or the treasure-hunting adventures of Uncharted, the new game takes players into a futuristic science fiction universe.

Naughty Dog says the game has been in development since 2020 and aims to deliver its deepest gameplay experience yet.

The protagonist is Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria.

Jordan is searching for the Five Aces criminal syndicate when she becomes trapped on the distant planet. Sempiria's communication with the outside universe disappeared centuries ago, and nobody has successfully left its orbit in more than 600 years.

Sempiria is the mysterious planet at the center of the story.

Its isolation and unexplained history appear to be major parts of the game's narrative. Naughty Dog has intentionally kept most of the story under wraps, so many details about the planet remain unknown.

Naughty Dog has not announced a release date yet. The studio's latest statement only confirms that the full reveal is coming in 2027.

🧟 What About The Last of Us?

Interestingly, the latest Naughty Dog update also confirmed that two new projects set in The Last of Us universe are in very early stages.

Druckmann said both projects will expand the canon beyond The Last of Us Part I and Part II. However, Naughty Dog has not confirmed that either project is The Last of Us Part III.

So rather than completely abandoning The Last of Us, Naughty Dog appears to be developing its new sci-fi IP while also keeping the franchise alive in other forms.
