You can now link World of Warcraft to Discord so that guild chat and a Discord channel stay in sync. Messages sent in WoW's guild chat appear in the linked Discord channel, and messages sent in Discord appear in game.

The feature arrived with WoW's Curse of Ula'tek content update for the Midnight expansion, and Discord explained it in an August 2026 blog post. This page covers what you need, how to link your accounts, how guild leaders connect a channel, and how to fix common problems.

Each player links their own accounts. You can do it from Discord or from inside WoW.

  1. Open Discord and go to User Settings.
  2. Select Connected Apps (you may need to select View More).
  3. Select the Battle.net logo.
  4. Review the permissions, follow the prompts and confirm.

According to Blizzard:

  1. Press Escape to open the Game Menu, then select Options.
  2. In the Social tab, select Enable Discord Functionality.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect and confirm your Discord account. You need to be logged in to Discord.
  4. Choose your Display Name setting (see below).

The guild leader, or an officer with the right permissions, does this once for the whole guild:

  1. In WoW, press J to open Guild & Communities.
  2. Open the Roster tab.
  3. Select Guild Settings in the lower right.
  4. Under the Guild Control dropdown, choose Discord Settings.
  5. Select your Discord server, then pick a linkable channel from the dropdown.
  6. Select the link button and approve the connection.

Blizzard says guilds can also create a separate Discord chat channel inside WoW, instead of mixing Discord messages into regular guild chat.
