How to Set Up a Discord Invite Splash
The invite splash is the background image potential members see when they click your invite link. A strong splash increases join rates.
What Is the Invite Splash?
When someone visits your invite link (discord.gg/yourlink), they see a page with your server name, icon, member count, and a background image — that's the invite splash.
Requirements
- Boost Level 1 (requires 2 server boosts)
- Image minimum: 1920×1080 pixels
- File type: PNG, JPG, or GIF
- GIF animated splashes require Level 3
Setting Up the Invite Splash
- Go to Server Settings → Overview
- Scroll to Invite Splash
- Click Upload Splash
- Upload your image
- Save changes
Designing an Effective Splash
Your invite splash is a first impression. Design it to:
Include:
- Your server name (large and clear)
- A visual that represents your community (game art, community theme)
- Your server tagline or value proposition
- Colours consistent with your brand
Avoid:
- Cluttered designs with too many elements
- Text that's too small to read on mobile
- Generic stock images
- Bright, eye-hurting colours
A/B Testing Your Splash
If you can create multiple versions:
- Set splash A for 2 weeks, track join rate
- Set splash B for 2 weeks, track join rate
- Keep the higher performer
A compelling invite splash can noticeably increase the percentage of people who click "Accept Invite" vs. leaving the page.
Combine a great invite splash with a well-optimised listing on Discords.ai for maximum first impressions at every touchpoint.
