Discord Cross-Server Advertising: How to Promote in Other Servers
Promoting your server inside other Discord communities can send dozens of new members per post - if done correctly.
Finding Legitimate Advertising Channels
Many servers have dedicated promotion channels:
#advertise-your-server#partnerships#server-promo#self-promo
Search for these in Discord listing hubs, advertising servers, and communities in your niche.
Best advertising servers:
- Discord advertising hubs (search "server promotion" on Discords.ai)
- Niche-specific advertising channels
- Partner server exchange communities
Writing an Effective Cross-Server Ad
Format your ad to be scannable:
🖥️ [Server Name]
👥 Members: [count]
🏷️ Category: [Gaming / Art / Study / etc.]
📝 About us: [2-3 sentences on what you are]
✨ What we offer: • [Feature 1] • [Feature 2] • [Feature 3]

The Rules (Read Every Server's Rules First)
- Most promotion channels have specific format requirements
- Many require a minimum member count (50, 100, 200+)
- Many have cooldowns (post once per 24 hours)
- Violating rules = ban from that server
What Never to Do
- Don't DM members of other servers uninvited - This is spam and violates Discord ToS
- Don't post in non-promotion channels - Even if your ad is good, it's rude and will get you banned
- Don't copy-paste the same ad everywhere - Tailor it to each server's audience
- Don't advertise in servers you just joined - Read the rules, lurk a bit first
The Better Alternative: Partnerships
Instead of one-off ads, establish partnerships - a permanent mutual promotion that doesn't require repeated posting.
