How to Get Your Discord Server on Discord Discovery

Discord Discovery is Discord's built-in server browser โ€” getting listed here puts your server in front of millions of potential members.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Community Mode enabled โ€” Must be a Community Server
  • Minimum 200 members
  • Active server โ€” Regular messages in the past 8 weeks
  • Safe for all ages โ€” No NSFW content anywhere
  • Passes the safety checklist (visible in Server Settings โ†’ Discovery)

Checking Your Eligibility

  1. Go to Server Settings โ†’ Discovery
  2. The checklist shows which requirements you've met and which you haven't
  3. Work through the checklist until all items are green

Safety Checklist Requirements

  • Media content filter set to "Scan media content from all members"
  • Verification level set to Low or above
  • Explicit Content Filter enabled
  • No NSFW channels marked as NSFW (or none at all)

Optimising Your Discovery Listing

Once eligible, optimise your listing for search:

  • Server description โ€” Use keywords people search for (your topic, game, activity)
  • Category โ€” Choose the most accurate primary category
  • Keywords โ€” Add all relevant keyword tags
  • Server icon โ€” Professional and recognisable
  • Welcome screen โ€” First impression for discovery browsers

Maintaining Discovery Status

Discord can remove you from discovery if:

  • Activity drops significantly
  • A safety check fails
  • NSFW content appears in non-NSFW channels
  • Your member count drops below the threshold

Set up alerts for server activity so you know if things go quiet.

Discovery vs. Third-Party Listing Sites

Discord Discovery has massive reach but requires 200+ members. For smaller servers, start with Discords.ai โ€” no minimum member count, and you can list immediately after creating your server.
