Anyone can finish a Quest and get a badge in ten minutes. But a handful of badges on Discord take years of playing, streaming, gifting and simply sticking around. These are the hardest Discord badges to earn, and we call them the Mythical Badges.
Every one of them can still be earned in 2026. They aren't locked away like the Early Supporter or HypeSquad Events badges. They're open to everyone, as long as you put in the time.
This is Part 1 of our series. Below, we rank all seven, explain what each one takes and show how long it would realistically need. Each later part takes one badge in depth.
The 7 Mythical Badges 1. 10+ Year Account Age star 2. Opal Nitro badge (72+ months) 3. 2-Year Server Booster badge 4. Top-tier Game Time badge (5,000 hours) 5. Top-tier Streaming badge (5,000 hours) 6. Top-tier Game Variety badge (100 games) 7. Legend Gifting badge (20 gifts)
🏆 What Makes a Badge "Mythical"?
Our Mythical Badges have three things in common:
- They're still earnable. No closed programmes or staff-only badges.
- They evolve. Each one levels up, and the Mythical version is the top tier.
- They take serious time or commitment. None can be rushed in a weekend.
Five of them come from Discord's newer, evolving badges, which go from grey all the way to gold.

One catch: Discord's help centre says the Account Age, Streaming, Game Time and Game Variety badges are still "an experiment" for "a small number of desktop users." The Gifting badge is also an experiment for select users. Your progress may count even if you can't see the badge yet.

Difficulty ratings are our own estimate of time and cost. Tier thresholds come from Discord's help centre and community badge trackers.
1. ⭐ The 10+ Year Account Age Star
The rarest of them all. The Account Age badge shows how many years old your account is, and after year 9 it turns into a star for 10+ years.
Discord launched in May 2015, so only accounts created in 2015 or 2016 can have it in late 2026. You can't buy it, grind it or speed it up. If you don't have it, the only way is to keep your account and wait.
Why it's mythical: it's impossible to earn faster than time itself.
2. 💎 The Opal Nitro Badge
The Nitro badge evolves the longer you subscribe to full Nitro. According to community badge trackers, it moves through eight tiers:

| Tier | Time subscribed |
|---|---|
| Bronze | 1 month |
| Silver | 3 months |
| Gold | 6 months |
| Platinum | 12 months |
| Diamond | 24 months |
| Emerald | 36 months |
| Ruby | 60 months |
| Opal | 72+ months |
That's six years of Nitro. TwilightZebby's tracker notes that Nitro Basic and Nitro Classic don't evolve the badge, and Nitro from Quests or free trials doesn't grant it.
3. 🚀 The 2-Year Server Booster Badge
The pink Server Booster badge levels up the longer you keep boosting, with its final form at two years. Community trackers list levels at 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 months.
The hard part is the streak. Discord warns that if you stop boosting, "your boosting streak and badge will reset to the first level!" One missed payment and you start again. Our guide to the Discord Server Booster badge explains how the levels work.
4. 🎮 Top-Tier Game Time Badge
The Game Time badge has 10 tiers, and the top one needs 5,000 hours of detectable games played on desktop with Discord open.
To put that in perspective: at 4 hours a day, 5,000 hours takes about 3 years and 5 months. You'll also need analytics and game activity detection turned on.
5. 📺 Top-Tier Streaming Badge
The Streaming badge also has 10 tiers, topping out at 5,000 hours of screen sharing in calls or voice channels, with someone watching. Sessions add up over time.
For most people, this is even harder than Game Time, because it needs an audience every time you share.
6. 🕹️ Top-Tier Game Variety Badge
Game Variety rewards breadth rather than hours. The top tier needs 100 different detectable games played on desktop with Discord open.
It's the most achievable of the activity badges. Free-to-play games and short indie titles both count, as long as Discord detects them.

7. 🎁 The Legend Gifting Badge
Discord's Gifting badge has six official tiers, and Legend is the top one, at 20 gifts sent. Discord says "every gift you've ever sent counts toward your badge," and gifts of Nitro or Shop items both count.

It's the "easiest" Mythical Badge in time, but it costs real money and you need to be in the experiment.
⚙️ Before You Start Any Grind
- Turn on analytics under User Settings > Data & Privacy (needed for Game Time, Game Variety and Streaming).
- Turn on game activity detection under User Settings > Activity Privacy.
- Play on desktop. Mobile and console playtime reportedly don't count.
- Never use client mods to force badges or experiments. Community trackers say it doesn't count, and it can break Discord's rules.
- Keep your account safe. A lost account means losing years of progress.
