season is almost here, and Discord users are already beginning to search for what the platform has planned for 2026.
Discord has developed a habit of changing parts of the app during October, including special notification sounds, Halloween ringtones, limited-edition profile cosmetics and Nitro promotions.
As of September 30, 2026, Discord has not yet announced its full Halloween 2026 event.
That doesn’t mean nothing is coming.
Looking at Discord’s previous Halloween events gives us a good idea of when announcements usually begin and what could return this year.
When Will Discord Halloween 2026 Start?
Discord has typically waited until October before revealing most of its Halloween content.
In 2024, Discord announced its Halloween Nitro and Shop promotion on October 7.
In 2025, the Trick or Treat Shop promotion was announced on October 8, while the Halloween ringtone and sound pack arrived later on October 20. Discord
Discord's larger 2023 Halloween celebration was announced on October 18 and included a custom ringtone, Halloween Activities, seasonal apps, cosmetics and other changes. Discord
That means early-to-mid October is the period worth watching most closely.
Will Discord Bring Back the Halloween Ringtone?
A Halloween ringtone returning in 2026 would not be surprising.
Discord ran Halloween sound effects in both 2024 and 2025.
The 2025 version was particularly notable because electronic music producer REZZ created Discord's Halloween ringtone.
Discord even uploaded a six-hour version of the ringtone to its official YouTube channel. YouTube
However, Discord has not yet confirmed a 2026 ringtone or announced who might create it.
Halloween Notification Sounds Could Return
The ringtone wasn't the only sound Discord changed.
Previous Halloween events included alternate notification and interface sounds across the desktop and browser versions of Discord.
In 2025, Discord automatically made the Halloween Event Sound Pack available from October 20 until November 3.
Users could switch back to normal sounds through:
User Settings → Notifications → Event Sound Pack → Discord Default

Whether Discord uses the same system in 2026 remains to be seen.
Expect More Halloween Profile Cosmetics
Profile customization has become a much bigger part of Discord over the last few years.
Discord's 2023 Halloween event included limited-time Avatar Decorations and Profile Effects.
In 2024, the company released its Spooky Nights collection.
Then in 2025, Discord introduced a Trick or Treat collection featuring Halloween Avatar Decorations with different creepy and cute themes. Discord
A new seasonal Shop collection therefore looks possible again in 2026, although nothing has been officially announced yet.
Halloween Profile Frames Could Be New for 2026
One particularly interesting possibility is Halloween Profile Frames.
Discord introduced Profile Frames in 2026, allowing decorative borders to appear around a user's entire profile.
They now sit alongside Avatar Decorations, Profile Effects and Nameplates inside Discord's Shop. Discord
Because Profile Frames didn't exist during previous Halloween events, 2026 could potentially be the first year Discord releases Halloween-themed Frames.
Again, this is speculation rather than a confirmed announcement.
Could the Nitro Halloween Promotion Return?
Discord has also repeatedly used Halloween for Nitro promotions.
In 2024, gifting Nitro to a friend could unlock a Halloween Avatar Decoration.
Discord expanded that idea in 2025, allowing users gifting Nitro during the promotion to claim one of eight Halloween Avatar Decorations. Discord
Because Discord has run a similar promotion for two consecutive Halloween seasons, another Nitro gifting campaign in 2026 is something worth watching for.
What Else Could Discord Add?
Discord has experimented with much more than just cosmetics.

With Discord continuing to expand Quests and Orbs, another possibility this year is some form of Halloween Quest or Orb reward.
There has been no official confirmation of that yet.
Final Thoughts
Discord Halloween has grown beyond a simple temporary ringtone.
Previous years have included seasonal sounds, Shop collections, Nitro rewards, Activities, app icons and special profile cosmetics.
For now, Discord hasn't officially revealed its 2026 Halloween plans.
But if previous years are anything to go by, October is likely to become much more interesting.
