Sebulba and a whole bunch of other Glup Shittos appear in the first story trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer

The first story trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer sped onto Summer Game Fest today, giving us a glimpse of characters like Sebulba, that four-armed alien that looks vaguely familiar, a human with a moustache that's probably from one of the cartoons or comics or something, and a whole bunch of other Glup Shittos.

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of a lapsed Star Wars fan so I don't have any idea who most of those characters are, and the story trailer mainly left me with one reaction: Oh, there's a story? I was hoping it would just be racing.

Lest you come away from those two paragraphs thinking I'm not excited for Star Wars: Galactic Racer: I actually am! I loved Star Wars Episode I: Racer (I had it for the N64) and whenever I fast-forward through the first Star Wars prequel I always watch the podracing segment (that and the Duel of the Fates battle are about the only reasons to watch the movie at all.)

So yes, I am pumped to see the racing gameplay, and decidedly less pumped to see a bunch of aliens talking about whatever the heck the story is about. But no matter. I will happily sit through all the dialogue (or smash the "Skip" button) in order to get behind the controls of a racer again.

The release date leaked a couple of months ago, but it's now definitely official: Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on October 6. I'll see all you Glup Shittos at the starting line.

The PC Gaming Show returns Sunday, June 7 at 12 pm PDT! Visit the show's Steam page to wishlist your most anticipated games and get more information on how to tune in for the big reveals.
