You can check out all the games from The PC Gaming Show on the show's Steam page, where you can wishlist your most-anticipated games and get more information on everything shown!

It's finally here. After more than five years in early access, Valheim has a 1.0 release date: September 9, 2026.

The news was just revealed on the PC Gaming Show, where we also got a look at what that 1.0 update will bring, which you can watch in the video embedded above.

Get your fur coat ready, because the viking-inspired survival game is going into the Deep North. Frozen tunnels, decrepit castles, and oh so much snow await. You'll have to craft a shovel and move it all out of the way if you want to build a base.

This update has been coming for a long time, and developer Iron Gate has been sharing lots of progress reports, but now the release date is finally on the horizon.

It's been a long road for Valheim: It was first revealed during the PC Gaming Show back in 2020 and launched into early access February 2021—it even won PC Gamer's game of the year.

In the years since, Valheim has had a host of updates, from Hearth & Home overhauling the food system shortly after the early access launch, to new biomes in Mistlands and the Ashlands patches.

If you've not given the game a go yet, you can buy Valheim on Steam, or wishlist it to prepare for when the 1.0 version comes September 9.

Check out everything revealed at the PC Gaming Show.
